Obama: Strike "Absolutely" On Hold If Syria Abandons Chemical Weapons
DIANE SAWYER: If Bashar al-Assad yields control of his chemical weapons to international authority, are we back from the brink?
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Absolutely, if in fact that happens. And so, I consider this a modestly positive development, you know, John Kerry is going to talk to his counterparts, and we're going to run this to ground.
I don't think that we would have gotten to this point unless we had maintained a credible possibility of a military strike and I don't think now is the time to let up on that.
