Carney: Deal On Border Security "Would Constitute A Breakthrough"
JAY CARNEY: "What we've seen is continued progress in the Senate towards the goal of legislation that would comprehensively reform our immigration system. As I understand it, they're still working through the details of this border security amendment (Corker-Hoeven amendment) and haven't filed it yet. But we're certainly pleased that Republicans and Democrats continue to work together towards common-sense immigration reform. This agreement would constitute a breakthrough on the bipartisan effort and we applaud the tireless work that has gone into it and broader efforts."
