Bill Maher Backs Drones: "Some People Do Need Killing"
On the Friday night broadcast of his HBO program "Real Time" host Bill Maher opined on Senator Rand Paul's filibuster that drew attention to the use of drones and gave his approval of U.S. drones being used in the Middle East to target suspected terrorists.
"That's not to say that all drone attacks are bad," Maher said to his panel. Some people do need killing, you know? It's like what I say about the death penalty, let's just kill the right people."
Maher said it wasn't very Christian of Rand Paul to be concerned about Americans being targeted by drones on U.S. soil and not care about foreigners who have to deal with the reality of drones everyday.
BILL MAHER: Look, Rand Paul's thing about, you know, 'I have to have this answer, whether Obama can kill Americans on American soil.' Every time, who somebody I'm sure is a very proud Christian, talks about how they can't do it to Americans. But foreigners, fuck them. You know, there's a real world going on where drones actually kill people every day. But fuck them, we don't care about them because they're not Americans. And that just doesn't seem like the attitude that Jesus would take about people.
