Obama Car Czar: "We Are, In Effect, Stealing From Our Children"
"Can I just leave us with the fundamental point here in my mind, which is that we are, in effect, stealing from our children," Steve Rattner said on Tuesday's broadcast of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" after a discussion about debt and the rising cost of healthcare in an aging society
"We are basically taking out of the system, everyone who is close to retirement now -- heck, a multiple of what we're putting into the system. That becomes debt, that debt has to be paid by our children. We can keep doing that, but it doesn't feel right to me," Rattner said.
Rattner, a private equity investor, served as the "car czar" during the auto bailout.
